The hike to Corlieu Falls is one of my favorite hikes around Oakhurst. You can get there from one of two ways: from the trail head off Cedar Valley Road or from the pull-out off of Hwy 41.
If you start at Cedar Valley, it is about .86 miles up. It is beautiful and shaded most of the way, following the stream up to the falls, however there are sections that have a pretty steep incline. Be wary of poison oak. It is a bit shorter (and downhill) from the Hwy 41 trail head, but not as pretty.
There is a fairly new wooden deck from which to view this spectacular multilevel waterfall. I thought this was a perfect place for a cache. My coordinates may be off just a bit because of the trees, but if you are on the deck, you are close. Please use stealth around waterfall-viewing muggles.
