This cache invites you to visit a very beautiful public botanic garden in the middle of the Cap d'Antibes. Entrance is free and the cache can be found independent of the opening hours.

En 1857, Gustave Thuret découvre le Cap d'Antibes merveilleux et sauvage.
Il achète cinq hectares, y fait construire une villa et entreprend la réalisation d'un parc fabuleux, un des premiers jardins d'acclimatation de la Côte d'Azur.
Léguée à l'Etat par ses héritiers, la propriété est aujourd’hui gérée par l'INRA (Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique).
Sa superbe collection d'arbres et d'arbustes exotiques de climat méditerranéen, et son exceptionnel potentiel végétal servent, notamment à la pédagogie et à la diversification des espèces ornementales cultivables sur le littoral méditerranéen.
In 1857, Gustave Thuret discovered the wonderful, unspoilt Cap d'Antibes and bought five hectares of land where he built a villa and began the creation of a glorious park.
Bequeathed to the state by his heirs, the property is now managed by the INRA (National Institute of Agronomic Research). The superb collection of trees and exotic plants, and the rich earth, provide many opportunities for learning, and the cross-fertilisation of plant species that grow on the meditteranean coast.
