This cache honors the accomplishments of two of the finest folks I know. If nothing else good comes out of caching (and much has), calling these two friends is enough. Congratulations Doug and Linda on six thousand!!!
When a cache is really hard or its really cold or really hot or Doug is just really tired, he will imitate his best caching bud, Sam, who can often be heard saying, "Whyyyyy (Sam has a very southern accent) do we do this?? There don't pay us?" So, this cache is about WHY---- to log a smiley you must, of course, find the cache but it would be fun if you would briefly tell why/how you got into caching.
