Area 418 Traditional Cache
mzairboy: Area 418 has been damaged beyond repair. Damages may have been caused by recklessness, or Alien attack...we may never know. Fortunately the secrets of this mysterious area are kept safe within the rubble. We may not rebuild, because if we build it, "they" will come.

I was inspired to place this cache after visiting Area 51 and completing all the E.T. Highway caches. I had to bring some of the strange and unusual home with me!
You may have heard rumors about Area 51 and the Bermuda Triangle, but have you heard of Area 418?
Area 51 is a name used in official CIA documents for a military base that is located in the southern portion of Nevada in the western United States, 83 miles (133 km) north-northwest of downtown Las Vegas. Situated at its center, on the southern shore of Groom Lake, is a large secretive military airfield. The base's primary purpose is to support development and testing of experimental aircraft and weapons systems. The intense secrecy surrounding the base, the very existence of which the U.S. government barely acknowledges, has made it the frequent subject of conspiracy theories and a central component to unidentified flying object (UFO) folklore.
The Bermuda Triangle, also known as the Devil's Triangle, is a region in the western part of the North Atlantic Ocean where a number of aircraft and surface vessels allegedly disappeared mysteriously. Popular culture has attributed these disappearances to the paranormal or activity by extraterrestrial beings. Documented evidence indicates that a significant percentage of the incidents were inaccurately reported or embellished by later authors, and numerous official agencies have stated that the number and nature of disappearances in the region is similar to that in any other area of ocean. The area is one of the most heavily traveled shipping lanes in the world, with ships crossing through it daily for ports in the Americas, Europe, and the Caribbean Islands. Cruise ships are also plentiful, and pleasure craft regularly go back and forth between Florida and the islands. It is also a heavily flown route for commercial and private aircraft heading towards Florida, the Caribbean, and South America from points north.
Area 418 will hopefully challenge, puzzle, and put your caching skills to the test. Welcome to the bizarre and unusual. Welcome to Area 418.
Note: Like Area 51, Area 418 is a high security area. Please do not interfere with the video surveillance devices.
