Geocache Description:

Pirates like Maps especially ones with X's on them and this is no exception. Everything you need is here, snakes, heat, dirt, a pen and an over-complicated cache container. Really watch for snakes! No need for yellow-belly's to go to this cache, not a park and grab and not a anytime you want to cache either. You will have to plan your attack to not get muggled. So here is the story of how it all came about.

Jim Hawkins always wanted to explore the world but found it difficult to while caring for his widowed mother. One day a man walked through the door of the Admiral Benbow Inn where they lived. Jim showed him where to sleep and everywhere else. Jim asked him his name and the man told him to call him "Captain".
One day a funny looking man came and asked Jim if he could see someone called Billy. Jim told him there was nobody there called Billy but there was someone called Captain. Just then Captain opened the door.. His face turned blue.. "Black dog" he said, startled. Then he asked Jim to leave them alone. While Jim was waiting he heard a loud smash. Jim ran inside and saw the captain running after Black Dog. The next day the Captain collapsed and Dr Livesey came and said he was suffering from a stroke and couldn't drink rum any more.
The next day a blind man came and asked for Billy. Jim told him that Billy was sick and not able to see anyone. The blind man grabbed his arm and said, "I will break your arm." Jim then pointed the way to Captain and a short time later the man left. Jim came into the room and saw the captain packing . "What's the matter?" Jim asked in a soft voice. Captain told Jim that the pirates were coming and that he had six hours to get away. If he didn't make it then Jim was to get the keys to his sea chest and get a map out of it. Jim didn't know what he was talking about. Jim turned around and saw the Captain lying dead with a bottle of rum in his hands.
Jim heard a knock at the door. It was the pirates. Jim took the keys and got the map. He ran as fast as he could. He went to Doctor Livesey and told him the story . Then they went to get a captain and a crew. They met up with Captain Smollet who knew a man called John Silver. He also knew a crew who would help them. The next morning Jim, Captain Smollet, John Silver, the squire and the crew set off on their journey.
The squire was getting suspicious about the crew. But Jim said there was nothing to fear. But Silver had brought pirates on board to steal the treasure.
One day they spotted land and Silver and some of the pirates got on to a life boat to get to the land first, .Silver asked Jim for an oar and when Jim gave it to him, he was pulled into the life boat and kidnapped. Then they set off for the treasure. The pirates stepped out of the boat and there was a battle between John Silver and his pirates and Captain Smollet. Jim made it safely to Captain Smollet.
One day when Jim was walking around the island he met a man who had been left there by Captain Flint. He made a deal with Jim. If he showed where the treasure was Jim would have to take him home. He told Jim to tell Dr Livsey that he would meet at dawn. But later that night the pirates caught Jim changing the flag on the ship to the English Flag and they got the map from him. He was able to escape.
The next day the Doctor saw Silver and his men looking for the treasure with the map. Jim and his crew followed them. The pirates found the spot where the treasure should have been and all that was there was a hole in the ground. Captain Smollet and his men caught all the pirates but Silver, who had managed to escape. Captain Smollet went back to their own fort and all the treasure was lying there. Jim had a startled look on his face and asked Dr Lesley how could the treasure have got there. Dr Livesey said that he had made a deal with an old man on the island and arranged to get the treasure in return for taking him home. They loaded the treasure and set off for England.
One night John Silver managed to overtake their ship and stole nearly all of the treasure and was never seen again.

Here's Jim's tomb!
