This is a micro cache located at an informational sign near Montana's Initial Point.
The Initial Point was established in 1867 and is the point in which all Montana land surveys originate. The point itself is marked by a 3" diameter brass plate on a hilltop close by. If you wish to discover this benchmark please obtain landowners permission before journeying across private land. No need to cross the fence to get the geocache. Happy hunting.
