Description
This is a micro sized cache in a camouflaged weather proof matchstick container. Depending on time of day and weather conditions this area can get busy, so some planning may be needed. The cache contains just a log book and pencil but bring your own writing tool just in case. This cache is part of a series of Val Quentin Park Caches that will take you to some of the many nice parks in the area. Happy Caching!
Things to do
While in the area you can take a break and relax a little at one of the many benches or picnic tables. There are also a lot of equipment for the kids to play on plus a sand box and water front area. There is also a large open area good for playing a little Frisbee or other activities.
A Brief History of Val Quentin
The Village of Val Quentin is situated at the site of a farm originally owned by Arthur J. Cantin. Quentin and Cantin are pronounced the same in French and so the name of the village is literally translated as "Cantin's Valley". Arthur Cantin (1881-1967) purchased the land in 1933. He became a grain grower and a honey producer the work he enjoyed most. Beginning in 1954, the farm was surveyed and subdivided into lots. The Village was incorporated in 1966.
