If you found our first cache, then you won't be surprised that this cache also involves baseball and history. Mordecai Brown was a pitcher for many teams, including the Terre Haute Tots. He grew up in the Wabash Valley and went on to become a baseball great. Brown pitched for the 1907 pennant-winning Chicago Cubs and even the 1908 World Series winning Cubs. He finished his career in Terre Haute as a player-manager for the team that was the Tots, renamed the Browns in his honor. After retiring from baseball, he owned a filling station at this location.
