Geocache Description:



Une cache drive-in pour découvrir un joli petit jardin et son pigeonnier.

D'après les Monuments historiques, le pigeonnier de la Comtesse date du 16ème ou 17ème siècle.

Le bâtiment est muni d'un colombier, ce qui constitue un privilège seigneurial jusqu'à la Révolution : il fallait en effet posséder beaucoup de terres pour avoir le droit d'en construire un. Quant aux pigeons, ils accédaient au colombier par des lucarnes et le lanterneau, tandis que les corniches empêchaient les grimpeurs de monter.

Le pigeonnier appartiendra à l'épouse du comte de Pailhès jusqu'à la Révolution : devenue veuve en 1763, elle s'est occupée du domaine et son titre de noblesse est devenue le nom du pigeonnier.

Il est situé dans le lieu-dit Dralet : un endroit agréable, qui est également le point de départ de "la balade de la Comtesse".

A "park and grab" cache to discover a pretty garden and its pigeon loft.

According to the Historical Monuments, the pigeon house of the Countess dates from the 16th or 17th century.

The building has a dovecote, which was a feudal privilege until the Revolution: indeed, it was necessary to have a lot of land for the right to build one. As for the pigeons, they accessed the house by the windows and the lantern, while the cornices prevented the climbers from ascending.

The pigeon house belonged to Count Pailhès's wife until the Revolution.
Widowed in 1763, she took care of her lands and her title became the name of the pigeon loft.

It is located in a place called "Dralet" : a pleasant location which is also the starting point of a walk named : "The walk of the countess."
