The "SQ" in the cache name above signifies Spirit Quest, a project by the Northwest Ohio Geocachers to distinguish those caches that are set in cemeteries or memorial gardens. This cache is part of that series created by NWOGEO members to highlight cemeteries or memorial gardens in the area. Please be respectful of the area, and observe their rules and posted hours which are typically sunrise to sunset.

Welcome to Tamarack Cemetery

Milford Township, Defiance County, Ohio



Tamarack Cemetery is located on Scott Road, just south of Cicero Road. This little cemetery has seen many improvements in the last few years, and it's beauty now shines over how it looked upon previous visits. Nice what a little landscaping, planting and stone repair can do.

Many of the graves are of infants and children. We can only guess that an epidemic must have hit this little corner of Defiance County in the late 1800s, however we are unable to find any satisfactory history on these grounds as of yet.
