Description
This is a micro sized cache in a non-camouflaged magnetic key holder. Depending on time of day and weather conditions this area can get busy, so some planning may be needed. The cache contains a log book, and a pencil but bring your own writing tool just in case. This cache is part of a series of Val Quentin Park Caches that will take you to some of the many nice parks in the area. Happy Caching!
Things to do
While in the area you can take a break and relax a little at one of the few benches or picnic tables. There is also some equipment for the kids to play on plus a spot to unload small water crafts such as jet skis or small rafts. There is also a large open area good for playing a little Frisbee or other activities.
A Brief History of Val Quentin
The Village of Val Quentin is situated at the site of a farm originally owned by Arthur J. Cantin. Quentin and Cantin are pronounced the same in French and so the name of the village is literally translated as "Cantin's Valley". Arthur Cantin (1881-1967) purchased the land in 1933. He became a grain grower and a honey producer the work he enjoyed most. Beginning in 1954, the farm was surveyed and subdivided into lots. The Village was incorporated in 1966
