Northern Star
Council, headquartered in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis/St. Paul,
serves more than 95,000 young people in 21 counties across central
Minnesota and four counties in western Wisconsin. The council is
among the five largest in the United States and is led by over
23,000 volunteers. More than 1,100 community organizations,
representing educational, religious, non-profit, civic, and
business organizations join in partnership with Northern Star
Council by chartering 1,746 Scouting units (packs, troops, teams,
crews, posts and groups). The Northern Star Council is the result
of the July 1, 2005 merger of the former Viking (Minneapolis) and
Indianhead (St. Paul)
Councils.
The Gabbert Scout Service center is the western
office for the Northern Star Council Boy Scouts of America. This is
where various training sessions and meetings take place, along with
support functions such as membership registration and camp
registration. The staff employed at this location are dedicated to
support the thousands of volunteers in the delivery of Scouting
programs.
This cache is listed as a "Regular" size, although
the actual container with the log is a 'small'. There is plenty of
weather protected space in the main container to hold TB's and
overall is about the size of an ammo
can.
This cache has been placed with permission and
employees of the Gabbert Scout Service Center are aware of it's
placement. Remember the 4th and 5th points of the Scout Law when
searching this cache.
