According to Wikipedia, a Smörgåsbord is a "Scandinavian meal served buffet-style with multiple dishes of various foods on a table." However, it notes that in an extended sense "the word is used to refer to any situation which invites patrons to select whatever they wish among several pleasant things, such as the smorgasbord of university courses, books in a bookstore, etc." For this puzzle the pleasant things you have to choose from is a table of signature item products.
When I first started geocaching it wasn't long before I encountered my first sigitem, a niraD token retrieved from State of Confusion. The more I geocached, the more signature items I encountered until I decided I wanted a signature item of my own. I found an item that is small, so it will fit in most caches. And it was inexpensive in bulk, so I obtained a bunch of them. Subsequently I've been placing my sigitems in most of the local caches I find, as well as in the caches I hide. And thanks to Marky's sigitem tracking site I've been able to watch as some of my sigitems travel around (and outside) the country.
While I've been caching I've left sigitems and other trade-able swag, and I have obtained quite a few sigitems in exchange. At first I liked the idea of collecting them, but over time I realized that I already collect too many things. So I then came up with theidea of making the sigitems I've collected available for others to trade, and that is the idea behind this cache. The cache is originally stocked with all of the sigitems you see in the table below, as well as many others. You are free to trade for any of the sigitems, but please trade so that the cache stays well stocked. Note that you can click on each image to get a bigger view.
