Geocache Description:

Traditional Ammo Can Cache. NOTE: When replaced, GPS indicated I was 28 feet from original cache. I was 2 feet away at best.

PLEASE USE ULTIMATE DISCRETION ON CROWDED SKI DAYS.

This might be one the few caches that is easier to reach in the winter then in the summer! Designed to ski in, find, and ski out, the Bridger Cache was placed in a fairly easily obtainable spot for even the weakest of skiers.

For summer purposes, the cache is a mile and a half long hike up 1,200 feet of elevation. you can at times during the year drive up part of that distance to cut down on the steep hike.

For winter purposes, the cache is located on the Pierre's Knob lift side. about .2 miles down from the lift's drop off point. As you proceed up the lift, it will be on the top of the ridge line on your left.

PLEASE cover the cache very well when done, the spot may be noticeable to skiers and snowboarders. a poorly hidden cache won't last long through the winter.

Anyone finding this cache in the summertime, please help cover with nearby sticks. In the winter, please cover the cache and rope with snow when done!!

IMPORTANT CACHE HISTORY:
THIS CACHE WAS ORIGINALLY PLACED INSIDE A SMALL HUT BUILT FROM NEARBY LOGS IN JUNE 2010. LESS THAN A MONTH LATER THE HUT WAS DESTROYED AND CACHE STOLEN. ONLY A FEW PEOPLE GOT TO FIND IT.... I CHECKED WITH BOTH BRIDGER AUTHORITIES AND THE FOREST RANGERS. THEY CLAIM NO KNOWLEDGE OF WHAT HAPPENED AND DID TELL ME IT IS OK TO PLACE THE CACHE IN THE AREA.
