Bucura Lake

Bucura Lake is the largest glacier lake in Romania. Has nearly 10.5 ha of equivalent length of five football fields. Located at an altitude of 2041 meters and a depth of 17 m, Bucura Lake is hidden between mountain ridges Retezat that it also surrounds the walls of a fortress.

Access to the lake: the road Hateg - Caransebes from km 61 (Carnesti) by Clopotiva - Grebla - Gura Zlata – Gura Apei, 35 km asphalt road. From here the forest road which stops at Dracsanu a distance of 14 km.

Lacul Bucura

Se spune despre lacul Bucura ca este cel mai mare lac glaciar din Romania. Are aproape 10.5 ha, lungime echivalenta a unui numar de cinci terenuri de fotbal. Aflat la o altitudine de 2041 de metri si cu o adancime de 17 m, lacul Bucura, este ascuns intre crestele masivului Retezat, ce-l inconjoara asemenea zidurilor unei cetati.

Apele sale limpezi provin de la 5 izvoare principale. Apoi deverseza cu un debit de peste 250 de litri pe secunda inspre lacul Lia. Loc ideal pentru cei indragostiti de natura, salbaticie si piscuri semete, lacul Bucura presupune ceva efort pentru a ajunge la el. De la lacul Bucura, se pot efectua ascensiuni catre:Vf Peleaga (2509 m) – cel mai inalt din Retezat, Vf. Bucura 1 si 2, Vf. Judele - precum si catre salba de lacuri: Ana, Viorica, Lia.

Lacul Bucura deverseaza printr-un singur emisar ce o trimite spre lacu Lia, cu un debit de aproximativ 250 l pe secunda. Populatia piscicola este autohtona, in lac nefacandu-se populari artificiale.

Lacul Bucura are vara 14°C la suprafata si 10°C la fund. Aici se produce in mod tipic procesul de circulatie si de stagnatie a apei in timpul primaverii, toamnei, iernii si verii. Deci oxigenarea se face pana la fund si pentru temperatura respectiva saturatia este aproape intotdeauna 100%.
Spectrul salin al lacului Bucura arata ca are ape bicarbonate dar cantitatea absoluta a bicarbonatilor este de abia 6 mg/l. Circuitul materiei este complet inchis.

Accesul la lac: din soseaua Hateg - Caransebes, de la km 61 (Carnesti), prin Clopotiva - Grebla - Gura Zlata - Gura Apei, 35 km drum asfaltat. De aici pe drumul forestier ce se opreste la Dracsanu pe o distanta de 14 km.
