A little oasis close to downtown.
Located in the "Our Urban Eden" community garden located just south of downtown Edmonton. There has been a community garden in this area since 1999. First on the lot directly north of the present location and then briefly in the lot west across the alley and finally in it's current location. Community garden members have to have a membership with the Downtown Edmonton Community League (DECL) and then put their names on a waiting list to get a plot. 2010 is my first year with this community garden. As it's downtown, parking can be a problem, but one can briefly park in the alley by the entrance to the community garden. *** Best to approach the cache on foot from the alley side, and if you approach from the Bellamy Hill side there is a small path next to the bus stop. *** There is no street parking on the Bellamy Hill side. *** *** The cache is a small tube with a screw top and it's not anywhere near any garden plots or any refuse piles. Please be careful and respect the community garden. Please bring your own pen. *** The cache is now winter friendly. Activity in the garden varies, but mornings are usually quiet. After you've done the cache check out the various garden plots, sit on a bench, watch the birds in the bird bath and just enjoy the community garden! Congratulations to OreoClan for the FTF!
