Driving up towards Archimandrita you will soon be
aware of a number of large structures dotting the countryside. With
every turn of the road, more and more of them become visible, and
they seem to grow in size the closer you get. These windmills are
part of the Orites wind farm spreading over some 16 km² of this
Paphos district mountain. When completed, the farm will house 41 of
these monsters that are estimated to produce almost 10% of Cyprus'
electricity needs.
Stop a while to take in the novelty of the picture. This is the
first of two wind farms in Cyprus. The other one will be
constructed near Klavdia in the Larnaca district. Being Geocachers,
you may also want to look for the first of three caches that is
placed within sight of these awesome structures.
The cache contains FTF certificate and a scratch card lottery
