At the Falls of Rauros (my name) you will find a fairly standard hide in a spectacular spot. There is a real cache at the first stop and just a great view at the second location.
In the Spring, these falls are quite large and spectacular. While the cache is easy to find, you do not want to walk directly there from the listed parking area. Look at a topographic map or use the "turn here" hint.
While exploring the area with my family, we stumbled upon these falls. To get here, use the parking coordinates and park at the Yuba River crossing of Bowman Road (otherwise known as Lang's Crossing) Walk up the dirt road on the South side of the river till it seems reasonable to cut right. Once you find the container, there will be coordinates for a second waterfall not far away (No standard cache here). This second walk is certainly a four star walk, so only attempt it if you feel comfortable with your abilities. You will know that you are at the second falls when you read on the rock "Elevation 4559.6"
Enjoy the area and make sure to look around you. It is interesting to note that both the first and second locations show the signs of water smoothing. I believe the power company that built the nearby dam must have been involved with some Orc mischief ("Gnawing, biting, breaking, hacking, burning!") to funnel the water at some point. In addition, I have my suspicions that the entire Yuba River used to come through this gorge before the dam was built. That must have been something!
