Geocache Description:

The Cateran Trail is a circular route covering 64 miles (103 km) of old drove roads and tracks through forests, over moors and across farmland. It takes its name from the lawless cattle thieves who raided Strathardle, Glenshee and Glen Isla, spiriting cattle away by dead of night or into ancient misty mornings.

The Trail can be tackled in five easy stages. (Or walked in 4/5 days.) It is fully waymarked with Cateran Trail signs – plus a few unique hand-carved posts that are discoverable. It is advisable to carry a map And cache safely i.e equipped for all weather conditions.
The Trail takes you out on part of the Muir of Drumlochy with views all around you. Black Grouse and Roe deer can be found in abundance up here. No Vehicles are allowed up here, but there may be cattle.

Another lovely marker post can be found here.
