Hillside trail at Raystown Lake: This is an environmental education geo-cache about lizards, salamanders and snakes. It is intended for a family with young children and includes a book to read, an "On the Spot" activity to do, plus a "take home activity". Enjoy the Hillside trail loop as you hunt for this cache.
If you do not own a GPS, the Huntingdon County Visitor's Center will lend you one... (it was part of a grant funded by PA DEP).
This geo-cache is one of five that have been officially placed (with the Army Corps of Engineers permission, Raystown Lake Branch) at Raystown Lake, Huntingdon, PA by Dr. Kathy Jones, Associate Professor of Education at Juniata College. It includes a logbook to sign in, a children's book about Lizards, Salamanders and Snakes, an information sheet and on the spot activity with the necessary supplies and a "take home activity" to continue the learning at home...
This geo-cache was made possible through a grant from the PA Department of Environmental Protection (PA DEP).
