Deerock Lake
Deerock
Lake is a lake located about 5km north of Flinton and 5km east of
Northbrook. The lake is over 6km long and over 1km
wide. In the winter, it completely freezes over, making it
great for snowmobiles. The Deerock Lake Conservation Area
provides access to the lake with parking and a boat launch (parking
is $5/day...honour system). There are multiple islands in the
lake that are crown land, making them perfect for camping, away
from the busyness of a normal camp site. The limited access
to the lake makes it a very quiet and secluded area.

The road
to the conservation area is very narrow and winding - wide enough
for only one vehicle in many places. It isn't plowed in the
winter and it frequently washes out in the spring months.
Please be careful as you're driving in as accidently leaving the
road could mean trouble as swamps line either side. I
wouldn't recommend coming in the dark and I definately don't
recommend walking/hiking as there are bears around. Please
respect the conservation area and be safe.
The cache
is about 10m off the main road just after the parking
area.
