This is definitely a micro cache - no room for traders here, unless they're REALLY small. BYOP.
This series, called thr PGS or Paralympic Gold Series, is a series of 10 caches although they are NOT tied together or to a final in any way (they're stand-alone caches that can be done in any order).
In March, 2010, Vancouver B.C. was home to both the Olympic Games and the Payalympic Games. The Paralympic Games celebrate diabled athletes and their achievements in sport.
The 2010 Winter Paralympics, officially known as the X Paralympic Winter Games, were held from March 12 to 21, 2010.
This was the first time Canada hosted the Winter Paralympic Games and second time hosted the Paralympics - the first was the 1976 Summer Paralympics in Toronto.
Brian McKeever of Canada became the first athlete to be named in a Winter Paralympics and Winter Olympics team in the same year, although he did not compete in the Olympic Games. (At the 2010 Winter Olympics, he was scheduled to compete in the men's 50 km cross-country race, but the coach replaced him with a skier who did well at an earlier event). At the Paralympics, he competed in Cross-country skiing and Biathlon, winning an incredible 3 gold medals.
This particular cache celebrates his victory in the 20km free cross country ski.
Brian McKeever (born June 18, 1979 in Calgary, Alberta) began skiing at the age of three and started competing at thirteen. At 19 he began losing his vision due to Stargardt's disease.
At the 2002 and 2006 Winter Paralympics he competed in both cross-country skiing and biathlon. He won two gold medals and a silver in cross-country the first year and bronze medal for biathlon plus two gold medals and a silver for cross-country skiing in the later year.
His older brother, Robin McKeever, competes as his guide when Brian skis in the Paralympics.
This particular cache celebrates Brian's win in the 10km classic cross-country skiing event, one of his three gold medals at the 2010 Paralympics.
A simple, straightforward cache in a tree. You shouldn't need any more help than that. :) Parking is roadside.
