While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for the cache owner and block other cachers from placing a cache in the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time, we can’t do so forever.

Nothing seems to happen with this cache listing, so it is now archived, so that someone else can place a cache in the area, and geocachers can once again enjoy visiting this location. Also, if it hasn’t been done already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.

(This reviewer note is in English so non-Norwegian cache owners, geocachers and cache reviewers can understand what it says.)

Geocache Description:

Ved gården Vigstein nord for Kneppe, står en minnestein. Den to meter høye Vigsteinen er den eneste bautasteinen på Romerike.


Steinen skal ha blitt satt opp til minne om da birkebeinerne ble slått i slaget ved Svartsokna. Vig betydde på gammalnorsk: strid, kamp. Litt lenger øst er det flere gravhauger.

På et tidspunkt ble den flyttet nærmere gården, men da ble det urolig rundt husene. Sykdom, uår og forskjellige uhell kom over gården inntil den ble flyttet tilbake...

Senere har den fått ry som fruktbarhetssymbol, og helt inn i vår egen tid har barnløse kvinner kommet for å klappe den.

Cachen befinner seg et stykke unna selve steinen. Koordinatene til cachen er oppgitt i UTM for å teste deg som geocacher litt. For å finne koordinatene må du først besøke steinen og bestemme hvilken himmelretning den ligger i forhold til Gardermoen Bed & Breakfast, som er et hotell i nærheten. Bytt ut X i koordinatene med tall ut fra himmelretning


Hva slags tre ligger midt mellom Vigsteinen og hotellet? Bytt ut Y med:

Gran = 2
