Geocache Description:

This cache is at Keppel Lookout that has amazing views over the great little town of Marysville.

The Keppel Lookout and of course Marysville itself were heavily impacted by the "Black Saturday" bushfires around Saturday 7th Feb 2009. Looks as if the Keppel lookout facilities are in the process of being rebuilt, but I'm sure they are a lower priority than rebuilding Marysville itself.

On that subject - great to see that Marysville is rebuilding with such defiance and obvious confidence, and we encourage you to visit Marysville on the way to this cache to show your support to that community.

The cache was placed on a day trip from Narbethong to Rubicon by the Landrover Owners Club of Victoria and the Pajero Club.

I (iamapom) had brought a fully prepared ammo can cache for placing somewhere along the route - and happened to meet another Land Rover Club member (Blatherskite) and when we got chatting, we found that we are both cachers!!. So we decided to place this cache together.

The cache is the traditional ammo can containing a log book. Please made sure the cache is well re-covered in camo. Thanks.

I read that you can access the lookout by 2wd via Paradise Plains Road and Keppel Lookout Track - certainly in the dry. But it may get a bit "interesting" in wet conditions. 4wd - no problem all the time.
