Geocache Description:

New dry cache 25.5.15

A HIKE INTO THE HILLS

The views from this summit I am told are breathtaking, but as you will see from the photos on the day the cache was placed it was a typically dreich Scottish Hill Day, and this is supposed to be summer.
When you find this cache, you can also tick off another trig pillar and smile in the knowledge you have climbed a Corbett.

Please keep you dogs on a lead, lots of game birds up here and they have nerves of steel, leaving it until the last minute to reveal their hiding places.
Spotted on the day of placing:
• Golden Plover
• Lapwing
• Curlew
• Wheatear
• Grouse with chicks
• Hare
• Rabbits

There are a lot of good tracks on these hills, some of them are very new so please take care and follow the correct one. Some of these tracks are so good you will almost be able to reach the cache by mountain bike.

I started out from Millden Lodge in Glen Esk, but you could just as easily start from the B974 at Spittal Cottage if you fancy a longer trek.
