This is Abbotts Pond, built years ago to provide power for a nearby grain mill located at the corner of Glenwood Avenue, Colonial Avenue and Breakneck Hill Road. The old building is still there.
You can park on the shoulder, on the north side of the street, just east of the pond. Be careful on the curb. This is the south end of the 3-mile blue-blazed Foote Path, of the Midllebury Land Trust, where there are a number of other geocaches. The wooden walkway was an Eagle Scout project.
