Geocache Description:

For 100 years, the Boy Scouts of America has helped youth become more than they ever thought possible. And we’ll continue that journey into the next century.

Reaching the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America requires years of dedication and hard work. In addition to 21 required merit badges, each Scout must complete a project that — on average — requires 167 service hours. In 2008 alone, that translated to $16 million in service (based on the national volunteer hour value of $19.51). This cache is part of a nationwide geocaching series called "Cache to Eagle" that showcases these special contributions.

Over its first 100 years, Scouting has provided millions of hours of service to communities across America. For our 100th Anniversary, we’re celebrating that legacy with special service opportunities through — A Year of Celebration, A Century of Making a Difference. You can join us, and even earn a commemorative patch! Visit Scouting.org/100years to learn more.

In addition to this cache, we have hidden eleven other "Cache to Eagle" caches that highlight Eagle Service projects within the PA Dutch Council, and eight caches that highlight the "Treasures of Scouting".

This cache is located in Brubaker Park, near Fivepointville. Among the Eagle Service Projects completed at this park are:

- Flag pole, memorial garden, and concession stand
- Fire Circle and picnic tables
- Handicap accessible fishing pier
- Quoit and horseshoe pits and benches
- Horse tie-up area at pavilion
- Hiking trails throughout the park
- Underground drainage at children's playground

To find the final cache location, use information from the initial site as indicated:
Subtract the number of the Brendle-Coleman Post, Adamstown VFW from the last 4 digits of N 40° 19.449'
Subtract the number of the Reinholds VFW Post from the last 4 digits of W 76° 9.663'

The cache IS NOT located in the stone wall. Please do not pull the wall apart.
USE CAUTION. Bees may be active or nesting around the final cache location.

There is a new PA Dutch Council patch for the FTF (First to Find). Please be "courteous" and take the FTF prize from only one geocache in this series.

Twelve geocaches have been placed for the PA Dutch Council Cache to Eagle series. As you find each cache, record the cache number and the point of the Scout Law shown inside. The points are on a laminated card and on the inside cover of the log book. When you have found all twelve caches, send your list (cache# and point of Scout Law), along with your Name, Address, and Phone Number to:
PA Dutch Council, BSA
630 Janet Ave, Suite B-114
Lancaster PA 17601

Until supplies have been exhausted, respondents with the correct answers will receive a commemorative Cache to Eagle Patch.
