A short walk away from the suggested parking at N 53° 14.859 W 003° 58.046 along a tarmacked road. It's possible to park at the junction if you are brave enough. Lots of tree cover I'm afraid so the reading is taken from averages.
What you are looking for are "stone cannons", two stones with holes that have been drilled in to them. The best example has 19 holes drilled in to it. These holes would have been charged with black powder smuggled home from the quarry. These charges would have been detonated on special occasions such as weddings and the sound would echo across the valley.
The story goes that the holes were filled in by a jilted suitor on the day before the wedding. Another story is that it was done by a person who had a disagreement with the family of the couple who were to be married.
