JOHANNESBURG SOUTH-1C
This Cache has again been moved slightly to a new position.
"GreenJaM" requested that we revive this cache again. The cache is
hidden in the Southern parts of Johannesburg in the Klipriviersberg
Nature Reserve. You will have to walk and climb for a round trip of
5 km to enjoy the views of Southern Johannesburg and Alberton. If
you can find Ormonde Drive, Mondeor in the Witwatersrand street
guide, you will find the small parking lot very easy with the
information below. To prevent going through the bundu's as I did,
please follow these instructions. There is now game in this park
(zebra, blesbok, springbok, etc). Small parking space: S26-16.970
E28-00.578; 1611m. (If you are energetic you can start at:
S26-18.387 E28-00.671). Follow trail along stream, and turn left
at: S26-17.259 E28-00.596; 1609m. Follow trail past heap of stones
at; S26-17.058 E28-00.829; 1731m. Follow the trail and pass remains
of a beacon at: S26-17.028 E28-01.393; 1792m. The cache is about
150m from there at: S26-17.109 E28-01.346. NOTE: Approach the cache
from the South!! Climb over some large rocks. Crawl just to the
right of the tree trunk. The cache is between this tree trunk and
another large rock (North of trunk), underneath some stones. Beware
of some thorns. I saw several game about 300m to the South of this
cache. My daughter wrote a short poem - please take one. I hope you
enjoy the search and the surroundings.
