Just a little tidbit about moss. When I was a kid we lived in Mandeville LA. We lived just a few blocks from the lake. My mom would take us kids (6 of us) to go and gather moss from the trees. She would then tie the moss into big balls and we (the kids) would go and put them on sticks and stick them in the shallow water of the lake. The crabs would grab onto the moss and there they would shed their shells and become soft shell crabs. We would check the balls every day or so to see if the crabs were soft yet and if they were, we would take them from the ball and put them in wet moss that my mom would line our little red wagon with to keep them alive till we got home so she could cook them.......that was the good old days. It was also used for stuffing pillows and mattress's years ago.
Congratulations to darnjoeSNARG and MamaG on FTF.
