Ok. So it was only a small black cat that when startled, vaulted
onto a downed tree trunk and scampered quickly up the tree to
safety on the cliff above us. But if you know JollyBGood (The Jolly
Roger) no simple story will do when a bit of embellishing is
possible. Thus Black Puma Gorge was born.
This is a great hiking area just keep your eyes open for a black
puma.

There are two areas to park to get you close to this cache. I
remember now why I always park from the further location and make
the longer walk. Be advised if you park and walk from the
Horseman's Camp you will be walking up and down some tough trails.
The trails go through some ravines that are hard to navigate due to
the horses hooves chewing up the trail. When wet the footing is
muddy, slick and a good way to twist an ankle. Use extreme
caution.
