This cache is placed by the side of Loch Semple and is accessible at any time. The grounds are maintained by Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park and it is a lovely spot for both adults and children.
The Loch is regularily used for watersports, and therefore there is a large car park and visitor centre. The visitor centre is open daily APR - OCT 10.00 - 17.00 and NOV - MAR 10.00 - 16.00, providing gift shop, tearoom, and toilet facilities. There is also a bird santuary on the North side of the Loch.
There are plenty of benches and a few picnic tables for taking a break.
The cache is a short walk from the car park and will take you along the side of the Loch, and passed a wooden sculpture and grass tunnel. The route to the cache from the car park is along a gravel / dirt track with the last 20 foot off the path.
If on foot or bicycle then the cache is easily accessable from the national cycle route #7, just follow the route until Lochwinnoch and follow your arrow from there!
The cache is placed just off the path, but keep your eyes peeled for any muggles, it can sometimes be busy! Please remember to respect the area and remove any rubbish you may have.
No matter how you travel to the cache its worth visiting Castle Semple Collegiate Church which is less than a mile along the cycle track from the cache. You can go in and explore the ruins.
Semple Temple is also just a little further along the route and offers more ruins & great views after the short climb up to it. You will also have the bonus of attempting Semple Temple 'GC2804E'.
