Geocache Description:


There are many murals around San Francisco, especially in the Mission neighborhood. This is a bit out of the way, but it is worth the walk. Mixed among warehouses and new condos is the colorful Carnival mural running along a wall for nearly a block.

As the name implies, the Carnival mural is dedicated to the annual celebration that has its roots in Latin America and the Caribbean. If you are in town during Memorial Day weekend, the parade and street fair run along Harrison from 16th to 24th street. In 1994, the Carnival mural was created by Joshua Sarantitis, Emmanuel Montoya, Carlos Loarca and other local artists.

The cache is a small magnetic altoids size tin, but can accommodate some trackables; you will need stealth as there are many urbanites visiting the street for the indoor rock climbing gym located next door. Congrats to Olivia Noelle for FTF!
