This is part of a series of paddle caches on the West Branch of
the Brandywine Creek. All of these caches can be found by
canoeing/kayacknig the creek. Please DO NOT try and get them from
land because you will have to cross private property or dangerous
roads to do so. This was designed as a paddle series with the
caches easily accessible from the creek. They are all withing 5 ft
(or in/on) the creek unless otherwise specified so do not go
wondering off into the woods! If you would like a PAF then please
email me before venturing out and I will give you my cell#.
Remember if you are not having fun then I can't help you!
This branch of the Brandywine Creek is used much more than the
East Branch so there is not as much wildlife easily seen. I did see
several large flocks of Cedar Waxwings along the creek which was
nice as I don't see them that often. Also quite a few of Baltimore
Orioles along the way. This branch also has trout in it and I
cought several along the way but make sure you have a PA fishing
liscence! So take the afternoon off and get eight smileys! I
checked the coords on all nof these and adjusted them to be as
accurate as possible but along the creek the signals can get
bouncy.
This one is just to get you started! It is VERY small and is in
the middle of the creek! On top of the rock very low near a small
bush. Do not yell at me and do not drop it in the creek or I will
yell at you! You will need to paddle upstream just a little from
the put in point!.
Parking is very near this location! There is a very small area
for parking here so plan accordingly especially on weekends!
