Geocache Description:

Talk about history! This stadium has been hosting ball games since 1938. With covered seating for 3,000 fans, a new scoreboard, new fencing, and updated press box, it’s a great place to watch the Tobs, a summer league for college students.

If you come to town during the spring, you might even get to see the Babe Ruth 14-year-old World Series!

Or take a few minutes during any season to step back in time at the North Carolina Baseball Museum which features memorabilia from such greats as Catfish Hunter, Hoyt Wilhelm, Gaylord Perry, Enos Slaughter, Rick Ferrell, and Buck Leonard.

By the way, the next time you watch the classic baseball film Bull Durham, look really closely during the “fun in the rain” scene…..yep, that’s Fleming Stadium!

This one is rated a 2.5 because of high muggle activity (the stadium is in a neighborhood) and because it’s so black and sooooo small.

Congrats to CacheUMan - First to Find!!!
