A 4 mile circular walk that takes in Marsh road, Astridge and Gumfreston farms. There are several places to start or depart depending on how you want to do the walk. The entire walk can be done at a reasonable pace in about 2 1/4 hours. There is a variety of surfaces from very muddy to paved. This section goes over fields and along a concrete / metalled track. The cache, when you find it is a round 1ltr screw top container. There is room for some small TBs or coins.
You do walk over farm ground here so please follow the country code. There is live stock in some of the fields so dogs must be kept on the lead in these areas.
The cache site is in between two styles and there is a ditch which has two railway sleepers across it, however the sleepers look pretty much like the rest of the path with some under growth on them so take care you don’t put a foot wrong, hence the name.
There is an abundance of wild life with badgers, foxes, rabbits and pheasants as well as plenty of birds.
Leave nothing but foot prints take nothing but photos.
