cushtycache: Sadly the cache has gone again and on investigating I found someone had dumped some rubbish nearby hence archiving this one. Thanks, Cushty.

Geocache Description:

A series of caches to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Lowestoft to Great Yarmouth railway's closing.

This one takes you beside the Dip Farm golf course, close to the Pleasurewood Hills theme park.

Please keep dogs on leads and stick to the path as it crosses next to the putting area. The path is gravel / concrete and flat.

When retrieving the cache, take care not to trip on the old fence wires which blend into the landscape.

The line travelled over the embankment from Gunton on to Corton where the one remaining station, now a private residence, remains.

This cache is located next to one of the sturdy bridges that carried the line. Incidentally, all bridges had been strengthened just a decade before
closure when the route was briefly used for mainland services from London Liverpool Street to Yarmouth.

The container holds notebook and pencil plus space for small swaps. It's in a camo bag. Please put back carefully.

There is free parking for cars - for larger vehicles, there is parking in the lay-by on the coast road opposite.
