Click to go to the Mega Scotland web site

This part of the walk takes you through a wildflower meadow, full of orchids and wild pansies, with a variety of birdlife to include the call of the curlew, cuckoo and skylarks and you may see frogs in the damp areas.

Navigate your way to the edge of the conifer wood where you have a stile to cross over the stone wall which takes you into another meadow full of sheep. From the stile you will see a large ruin of an old 16th century keep, Whitefield Castle, which overlooks the glen. .Ashintully Castle, a large house built around an original 16th century tower can just be seen in a group of trees.

Cache is a 1.1 ltr box
