Commune située dans le Comminges à 27 km au Nord de Saint-Gaudens, à la source du Larjo.
Le dieu Iluro était vénéré dans l'antiquité à Mondilhan d'après un autel trouvé sur place.
Selon J Lacaze, le nom de cette divinité et celui de la cité d'Iluro, aujourd'hui Oloron auraient la même origine probablement ibérique.
Bastide créée en 1264 entre le Comte de Comminges et l'Abbé de Nizors: texte fondateur de la bastide de Mondilhan (Bas-Comminges), daté de 1265.

The god Iluro was venerated in the history of Mondilhan after an altar was found here.
According to J Lacaze, the name of this deity and that of the city of Iluro, the name Oloron comes from the same origin.
A bastide created in 1264 between the Comte de Comminges and the Abbé de Nizors.
