Not A Bear Traditional Cache
Ngaambul: As there's been either no response from the cache owner, no cache to find or log to sign, or it's been a number of months since the last owner note. I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace/make available the cache sometime in the near future (next 30 days), just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the current guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it. Should you replace the cache after 30 days has passed please create a new cache listing so it can be reviewed as a new cache.

This small cache container (1 litre sistema) has been placed in a little park which, we have it on good authority, is often home to a Koala or two. In fact, when I was scouting the area for the location of the cache, I had a conversation with a sleepy koala who gladly posed for a couple of photos. (Photo attached). So keep your eyes skyward and if you see a shapeless blob high in the branches, take a closer look.
(When we replaced the cache container after heavy rains, our little Aussie mate was visiting again. We've seen him in the same tree both times. From the cache site, turn around and head to the three gum trees up near the houses - good luck)
We’ve placed this cache in an attempt to educate fellow cachers, worldwide, of the fact that a Koala is not a bear.
Koalas and Bears both have fur, are warm blooded, give birth to live young and suckle their young on milk.
Koalas and Bears are both Mammals.
The difference is that a Koala raises it’s young in a pouch until it’s about 6 months old. This trait makes a Koala a Marsupial. Baby Marsupials are usually called Joeys. Most of the world’s marsupials are unique to Australia. Other marsupials include the Kangaroo, Wallaby, Tasmanian Devil and the Wombat. All of these animals suckle their young in a pouch.
We hope you are now able to pass on this information to your friends – cachers and muggles alike.
A Koala is… Not A Bear
Thanks to Stealth Seeker for the suggestion on the location.
This is our first cache placement so feed back is welcome.
Please ensure the container is well covered when you leave as muggle children play in the area.
This is the starting point for our “Not A Bear” Travel Bug who will travel the world spreading the message. We’ve included a matching Koala pin as a prize for FTF. The Cache also contains a log book and pen (please do not remove the pen) as well as some other small swaps.
Happy Caching
Congratulations to Fangsoki on FTF.
