With ongoing development back the early 90's Greenhithe was
finally placed on town sewage. As the village is close to the coast
there was a large amount of concern that many of the older sewage
tanks in the area had finally reached there useby dates increasing
the potential for effluent to make its way into the upper harbour.
The cache is in/on/beside/around one of the many pumps in the
Greenhithe area that is used to carry waste to the settling ponds
next to Constellation Drive.

The pump is situated at the head of a short walking track to a
nice sandy beach at the bottom. From the Upper Harbour Bridge you'd
think the whole area was one big mudflat but this certainly isn't
the case and its worth the 5 minute walk.
Parking can be found at the end of Remu Place on the left hand
side. Please don't drive further than where you see the sign
(Access to 28,30,32) and the white (NZ Herald box) as no turn
around facility further down. If you walk straight ahead down what
looks like a private driveway passing the the NZ Herald box on your
left you'll soon see the sign pointing out the walkway to the
foreshore. BYO pencil as cache is a nano, and is heavily
cammo'd
Happy Hunting!
