This cache has been archived.

cachestacker: I guess everyone who wanted to has logged. Quite a few have not! Well, they can still log after it's archived, but time to take it down.

We had a great time -- Hope you all did, too!

Stay tuned for possible geo-dog flash-mob event(s)in the dog park. Nothing fancy -- just a chance for the mutts to run and have fun.

See you next year!!

How Geocaching Works

Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

Geocache Description:

It’s a dog-eat-dog world out there, so bring yourself and your geo-dog to GZ between 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. for a dog-gone good time. Come have some hot-dogs and some geo-fun at Bay Area Park with everyone! We’ll feed you and your pooch hot dogs fresh from the grill. We’ll have plenty of ketchup, mustard, relish, cheese slices, potato chips, and ice-cold bottled water and soda.

You are welcome (and encouraged!) to contribute to the festivities by sharing side dishes, cold drinks, dips, and any other food-stuffs you want to bring! We can't think of anything else you'd want to bring, but we hear such items might include: soda, tea, salad, potato and/or macaroni salad, (CupCake reiterates potato salad), baked beans, veggie trays, chips & salsa, dip, rolls, and -- oh -- desserts!

BRING SOME CHAIRS FOR HUMAN ATTENDEES AS PICNIC TABLE SEATING WILL BE LIMITED!

The Dog Park
Bay Area Park has an awesome dog park. You’ll pass it on your left entering the park as you travel towards GZ for the event. You may want to mark this spot. But don’t worry – if you don’t, your dog will. Bay Area dog park is 5.3 acres with a separate small dog area, drinking water stations in each dog area, two doggy wash stations in the front, shade, and benches. Your dog(s) can come and play, get all dirty, and you can hose them off right there! Same goes for you!

Wait – you don’t have a geo-dog?
Just bring yourself, your kids, your family, and/or other caching friends (except cats---sorry)! The park has playground equipment between the dog park and the event site, and we are planning fun and games for all ages.

So here’s the deal (rules):
The park is open 7am – 10pm. No alcohol is allowed in the park. Please don’t get us in trouble by bringing any. All pets must be on a leash, except when in the dog park. Oh, and scoop your poop. And your dog’s.

Did we mention no cats are allowed? Sorry!

So, we'll start off by giving everyone a Doggie Bag (a couple of goodies for you and your pooch, including a highly coveted Event Tag to add to your pathtag collection and raffle ticket for door prizes at the end of the event. Must be present to win). We'll also have a Pin the Tail on the Dog card entry form (A different version of GeoGolf -- Pick a point somewhere in the park and write down those coordinates. The one closest to the "tail" will receive a prize!). We'll have a scavenger hunt for the kiddos, and then start grilling the hot dogs. Head over to the dog park for the Sit and Stay competition (yes -- for dogs, not cachers). Turn in your Pin the Tail on the Dog cards and get ready for the Pets vs. Humans Stupid Trick Tournament. And after all that fun, we'll draw for door prizes! Should be a fantastic time!
