Geocache Description:

This cache is one of a series placed to coincide with the nearby Wild West Cache Bash - 2010 camping event.

Carrs Woodland is a beautiful area of broadleaved woodland, limestone pasture and a brook, situated on the edge of Twerton, Bath. It follows the valley of the small Newton Brook, extending from the top of the hill, with extensive views across the countryside to the west of Bath, down steeply wooded and grassy slopes to the brook, curving round the hill to the north and south along the valley. Its character is shaped by a sense of the countryside, the past, natural wildness, peace and tranquillity. Its magnificent beech trees are one of the most important landmarks on the western edge of Bath and it has views stretching out across open fields and the railway. It is rich in wildlife and signs of its fascinating history. It is owned and managed by BAth & North East Somerset Council and was designated a Local Nature Reserve in 2006. Placed with the assistance and permision of Lucy Corner of Bath & North East Somerset Council
