A small series set on various bridges across some of the five rivers that flow by or through the city of Salisbury in Wiltshire. Some of these bridges are picturesque others are just functional but they do have a cache hidden on the bridge or close to it.
You are looking for a micro cache containing a log-book hidden upon or close to the bridge. Please bring your own pencil. Due to the bridge being damaged by a falling tree I have had to relocate this cache slightly. Coordinates have been updated on 10/08/2014.
Stealth may be required while accessing this cache and placing it back afterwards. Please see the hint for correct replacement of this cache
This cache is accessible by wheelchair. If you have children or dogs with you please be aware that you are adjacent to a roadway.
This is the first of two bridges on this road and crosses over the river Avon close to the Salisbury city fire station. The Avon Valley Nature Reserve can also be reached by footpath from this point. The city footpath and cycle-way runs right past this bridge so it can be easily accessed from the city centre. It is about a 0.68 mile walk from the market place.
Pay & Display parking is available at Central car park N 51° 04.320 W 001° 47.945, New Street multi-storey car park N 51° 04.032 W 001° 47.699 or at Culver Street multi-storey car park N 51° 04.063 W 001° 47.429 but I would recommend using one of the many Park & Ride areas on the outskirts of Salisbury.
Good luck to you all.
