Cachen innehåller en liten loggremsa och en pennstump. En traditionell cache i ett intressant och slitet område.



SWE: Vissa kallar det konst, andra vandalisering. Vad man än tycker, så är graffiti-konsten här för att stanna. Till Sverige kom konstarten i mitten av 80-talet. Mycket inspiration kom från filmerna ”Style Wars” och ”Wildstyle” som bägge kom 1984. 1987 kom sedan ”Stockholmsnatt” och blev det riktiga genomslaget för svenska graffitikonsten då flera kända målare medverkade i filmen.

Zappo, Puppet och Pasha var några av de tidigaste aktiva målarna i landet och har fått stor uppmärksamhet, även internationellt. Puppet uppmärksammades mycket för verket ”I’ll burn you all” (även kallad ”Draken”), som finns både representerad i Graffiti history museum i New York samt i svenska Nationalencyklopedin. Den är dessutom föreslagen för K-märkning.

De verk som ses på Cemex silos nere i Västerås hamn på oljevägen gjordes 1998 av ovan nämnda målare, och ryktas vara ett beställningsjobb av Cemex AB (en av Sveriges största importörer av cement) för att smycka de tråkiga gråblå väggarna. Bilderna föreställer cementbilar, tågvagnar och människor i arbete. Något som vittnar om respekten för dessa konstnärer, inom egna kretsarna, är att inga av målningarna har blivit övermålade av andra aktiva graffitimålare fortfarande efter många år…


ENG: Some call it art, others call it an act of vandalization. Whatever your opinion may be, graffiti is here to stay. Here in Sweden, the artform arrived in the mid 80’s. Swedish artists were inspired by the movies ”Style Wars” and ”Wildstyle”, which both came in 1984. A very infamous movie called ”Stockholmsnatt” (which came in 1987) became the real breakthrough for swedish graffiti-art and several famous painters participated in the movie.

Zappo, Puppet and Pasha were some of the earliest active artists in Sweden and has received much attention, both domestic and abroad. Puppet was highly acknowledged for his piece ”I’ll burn you all” (also known as ”The Dragon”), which is represented in the Graffiti history museum in New York as well as in the Swedish National encyclopedia.

The imagery which is seen on Cemex silos in Västerås harbour on Oljevägen were made in 1998, and are rumored to be a commission from Cemex AB (one of Swedens cement importer heavyweights) to decorate the dull grey-blue walls of the structures. Pictures depict cementtrucks, trains and people at work. Something bearing witness to the respect these artists still enjoy, is that no other artists has wanted to replace the artworks with their own, which is a rather common practice...
