Ptarmigan Peak can be reached easily by hike NE from Weston Pass
(take highway five from the 285 near Fairplay to get to Weston
Pass). The road from this side of Weston pass does not currently
require a high clearance or a 4x4 vehicle.
The cache is located under some rocks in a pile and is visible if
viewed at the right angle. Please replace the cache so that plenty
of rocks on are on it but so it can still be seen.
The cache is within 40 feet of the summit . There is a benchmark
near the summit that you can log.
Note, the summit is not where the cache is hidden.
There is a summit register (currently a PVC tube) that is not the
cache.
