Geocache Description:

While caching in Queens I came upon this forgotten cemetery. I thought that the people buried here should not be forgotten.

Remsen Cemetery is the family cemetery of Colonal Jeromus Remsen a Revoultionary War Hero. He was in the French and Indian War and originally helped settle Queens. He joined the Continental Army and kept the British Army from taking cattle as he drove them eastward out of British hands. He was a Colonal of a Regiment of Kings & Queens County Militia in the Battle of Long Island. He is buried here with 9 other members of his family.

Please be respectful to the gravesites.

The cache is a small PB container with log & room for small items. BYOP able to write on TYVEK.

Congratulations to Jeremy for being FTF
