Regular size cache (ammo can) with plenty of room for swag and travel bugs hidden near a very rare find in the West El Paso desert.
I happened upon this very rare insect specimen while hiking in the desert and felt obligated to share it. I must admit, of all the years that I've spent in the desert whether it was on a motorcycle, hiking or in a Jeep, I have yet to find a better example of the West Texas Club-Footed centipede than this one. I was shocked when I spotted it...and immediatly jumped back, but then remembered that the West Texas Club-Footed centipede is not overly fast nor is it harmful, so I stuck around awhile and observed it in it's natural enviroment. I've seen pretty much every kind of snake, spider and scorpion that this desert has to offer...but stumbling across one of these in the wild is a once in a lifetime experience.
I know it should go without saying...but you're going to be in the desert. Things out here can poke ya, bite ya, sting ya, scratch ya, cut ya, etc...so be aware of what's around you.
Grab your sunscreen and go check it out!
