Please note - this is not a new cache just the old one re-listed. This used to be the site of the Maudslay Motor Company and was built in 1939. It was sold on to the Rockwell Axle Company but has now been abandoned. Recently there have been plans to build a retirement village here but this has been strongly objected to by the locals.
To do a walk taking in all the Alne Hills caches park in front of Great Alne Church and walk through churchyard and out through gate. Bear left and then straight ahead by stream to go through trees to bridleway track. Turn left and then right onto footpath and continue straight ahead until footbridge is reached. Cross bridge and keep straight across track and through another field to obvious house ahead. Turn right onto road and up hill until track on left. Up track, past empty buildings and through 2 metal gates into woods. At end of woods, turn right at footpath post and go straight ahead to tarmac road. Turn right and follow road then left after passing Glebe Farm. Follow footpath through two metal gates and keep straight until steps to road. Turn left up hill and then right at Hill Farm. Follow footpath signs past Maudslay and back onto road leading to parking place.
