Windsor Castle was built by Arthur Smith IV, founding father of Smithfield. The Town of Smithfield was founded in 1752. The Town of Smithfield aquired this property in March 2009 has turned the 208 acres into a public recreation area where a person can find miles of trails through woods, along Cypress Creek, and across bridges. There is a canoe/kayak launch, fishing pier, and a dog park. Bathrooms are also available and can be found at the main parking area along Jericho Road next to dog park.
